Every diamond we set is E color or above, VS1 clarity or above, and Ideal cut. Not usually, and not on a premium line — every stone, in every ring, without exception.
E and above keeps a stone genuinely colorless in daylight, where warmth announces itself long before a buyer can name it. VS1 and above puts every inclusion beyond the naked eye, which is a materially different promise from the "eye-clean" SI stones most of the market runs on. Eye-clean is a claim anyone can make. VS1 is a grade an independent lab had to certify.
The cutThe only C made by a person.
Color, clarity, and carat are set when the diamond is grown. Cut happens after, by a cutter — and it's the grade that determines whether a diamond returns light or leaks it.
We set Ideal only. A larger stone cut carelessly will always read smaller than a smaller one cut well, which is the most expensive lesson in this category and the one buyers usually learn after they've paid.
The proofWe don't grade our own stones.
Every diamond arrives with an independent IGI report covering cut, color, clarity, and carat weight. We do not grade our own diamonds.
Anything we tell you about a stone should be verifiable by someone with no stake in whether you buy it. That's why we certify externally rather than internally, and why we hand you the report before you ask for it.
The makingNothing is pulled from a case.
Your ring is hand-set after you order it, by the cutting and setting partners we've worked with from the beginning. One to two weeks — and if a piece needs longer than that, we'll tell you before you order, not after.
Every photograph on this site is a real piece, in the metal and shape you're choosing — no renderings, no composites. What arrives is what you looked at.
The priceNever the cheapest.
We're not the least expensive way to buy a diamond and have never tried to be. Holding this floor costs us stones most weeks, and occasionally an order to someone quoting a bigger carat weight for the same money.
What we offer instead is a standard that doesn't move, stated plainly, before you spend anything.
There is a version of this business that is much easier to run. Buy stones in bulk, describe them generously, photograph them under lighting chosen to flatter, and let the price do the convincing. It works, and most of the industry is built on it.
We built this differently, and it shows up less in any single number than in the pattern of decisions behind it — the stones we walk away from, the shortcuts we don't take, the language we won't use because it sounds better than it means. A standard is only real if it costs you something to keep.
A standard that bends for the right order was never a standard.
Holding that line costs us stones most weeks, and occasionally an order to someone quoting a bigger number for the same money. We've made peace with that trade, because the alternative is asking you to take our word for something you have no way to check.
Every ring that leaves here has been through the same hands more than once — set, checked, reset if it isn't right, checked again. We don't think of that as a selling point. It's just what happens when the person finishing your ring knows their name is going on it.
None of this is meant to be impressive. It's meant to be true, in a category where that's rarer than it should be. If something here doesn't add up, ask us — we'd rather explain it than have you wonder.
